The Happiest Girls Trip on Earth!!

My long awaited "Happiest Girls Trip on Earth" is over...although I am sad its over, I had so much fun that just looking at the photos of my trip fills me with joy! I went with Melly, Lisa, and Nat. They are such fun girls that we didn't stop laughing the whole time! What a fabulous (and much needed) break from reality it was!
So just to sum up three days of non-stop adventuring:

  • We flew to Long Beach Airport, and took a shuttle to Disneyland.
  • We stayed in the Park Vue Inn right across the street from the parks.
  • We had "park hopper" tickets that let us go to both Disneyland and California Adventure.
  • Ho-Sock!
  • We wore matching T-shirts for each day that said "Happiest Girls Trip on Earth" on them.
  • We looked HOT wearing those shirts!
  • We bought "Mickey Ears" hats and had our names stitched on them.
  • We looked HOT wearing those too!
  • We ate a lot, and snacked a lot, and walked a lot!
  • Hate to admit it, but we were soar and dead tired at the end of each day.
  • Tower of Terror was our collective favorite ride. Which is why we stood in line for 75 minutes our last day to get one last thrill from it!
  • I love Space Mountain almost as much!
  • Between the 4 of us, we took over 400 photos in three days!
  • (most of those photos were "self-photography" while standing lines!

"Intergalactic-adventure"!!

This is our last day...in line at Big Thunder Railroad (we look a bit tired huh?!)

I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends!

I am so blessed to have such fabulous friends!
I am truly on a "friend high" right now. (I think it ebbs and flows!) I just wanted to put it out there that I am so thankful for such awesome women in my life! The photos below have all been taken within the last week! (I have this bizarre belief that people don't actually become a permanent part of one's life until it is documented by photos!) And for my friends not posted here - it just means we need to see each other soon!

This is my newest friend Nettie! We met in February at the University Mall Treehouse Play area! (This photo was taken at McDonalds where our kids were playing...) I am so happy about our new friendship! But tell me - whats with my overly large head?!!!

These are my girls: Kari and Mandra (at Mandra's baby shower) We were roommates in College!

I went to dinner with Nat and Rondi on Monday. Each time I am with these two I love them even more! And Nat, Rondi and I are so proud that you have embraced "Twilight"!

This is Anna. We took our kids to the Bean Museum at BYU this week (notice the dead animal behind us...) Anna and I have been friends since 6th grade! Its great to be able to hang out with you again Ann. I wish you weren't leaving so soon! Doesn't self photography bring back so many goofy memories?!

Don't you worry, my sexy scrap-assy sistas! There will be plenty of our photos on this blog when we get back from "THE HAPPIEST GIRLS TRIP ON EARTH"!!!!!
Joy to all!

....about Daxon

So, I have looked through the last 3-4 posts and realized that I have nothing about Daxon! So - I wanted to get his cute little mug out there! He daily makes me laugh with the faces he pulls, the funny things he says, and the goofy things he does. Lately his favorite movie has been Disney's "Brother Bear". Because of the movie, everything has become a hunting spear. Blue and I made him a spear from a cardboard tube from inside a roll of wrapping paper. We reinforced it with electrician tape, and then another piece of cardboard in the center after it started getting weak. He takes it with him everywhere!

This photo depicts him well...he goes in his room and finds the easiest shoe to put on and goes outside to "hunt bears" (wearing socks with flip flops is a cardinal sin in our family, but we let him slide!) What a funny cute boy!

PS: FOLLOW UP ON "FOR THE LOVE" POST
Thanks to all those who left me comments/messages/texts about what to do for Zayla's soar gums! And especially to Nat for bringing me a Mesh Feeder! The next day after the post Zayla of course stopped crying and was fine! But we tried out the Mesh Feeder and she didn't quite get it. We'll try it again on the next tooth. However since then, I have found out that cold carrots make her happy!

PPS: I realize this is supposed to be a post about Daxon but be sure to look at the cuter than cute video clip below!!

Much Joy!

Just a Cute Clip!

Zayla is growing up way too fast! She has morphed into a little girl instead of a baby. When did that happen??

...for the Love!!

I have tried everything! I have picked her up, I have put her down, I have given her Tylenol (she is teething her top front teeth), I have played with her, changed her, fed her, given her water, milk, rocked her, Daxon has danced for her, sung to her, I have let her cry it out, read her books, put her in front of her favorite toys. Nothing I have done has stopped Zayla from crying!

Until I sat her on top of the counter and fed her some goldfish. She was happy as could be up there! I tried to do a few things near the counter, but basically I just stood there enjoying the not-crying. Unfortunately, a baby can only sit on the counter for so long and then it starts to become a hazard. Had to take her off, and the crying continues...What am I doing wrong?! She has been like this for days. Any other suggestions out there?!

Trying to find the joy....

Her Majesty, the Princess, is ONE!

I can't believe it, but our baby in ONE!! (She actually turned one on Feb 5th). We had a party for her a week ago and I just wanted to get some photos up for you all to enjoy. Thanks to all our friends and family who were here to help celebrate. It was good to be with you all! Zayla loves all her gifts, and will be the most fashionable little tot in all the land!

I am such a crafty mom, I made the Tu-Tu!!!

This was the extent of the cake show...she liked it!

Zayla is sitting on the table looking at the board I made with one photo of her taken around the 5th of every month of her life!

This was taken on the morning of her Birthday. She was kind of trembling as she first sat on this new horse!

....Its Been a While!

Its been a while since I have posted anything for my fascinated readers...and I am thoroughly sorry! I have a few good excuses...One being that my computer is out in the garage/studio and its so cold out there! (we have turned down our heating method in order to cut down on power bill), Two: Zayla is now taking shorter naps, so my two hours of getting stuff done is cut in half lately. I usually tackle the kitchen and spend time with Dax in that hour during her nap. and Three: I have not had anything exciting going on around here, nor have I had any fabulolus witty thoughts to post. Just boring!

So - I thought I would emphasize that boringness and post all about it!! Enough of waiting for something spectacular to happen to post something right?! Rrrrrrright!

I so want to point out my favorite photos I have taken lately however. Both are totally random (which always turn out to be my fave!) Notice the "silly spot" photo. Blayke and Zayla are so cute! And them sticking their tongues out at me at the same time was not planned. It must be a Sister...thing! The one at top of Zayla is so cute because she is just to happy and mischevious lately! Its fun to catch her at it!
Well - tune in soon as I will actually have something to talk about because my baby is turning ONE YEAR OLD in three days!!! I will have photos of the celebration and such up soon!

Keeping the JOY!
Kat
